The Rise of the Republic encompasses the time from the Great War to the stabilization of the Republic Credit economy. This time period is denoted as being heavy in political intrigue, a slow turn from wartime mindsets, and growth in interconnectivity between the planets of Solanis. While not including any conflicts formally declared as wars, several skirmishes and organizes resistances rose from the formation of the Republic.
4610 | Convening of Pangea and the Coalition
The economy following the Great War on every planet was in recession. Almost a millennium of military spending, supply line interruptions, and labor shortages took its toll on the system at large. To address this common issue, representatives from Pangea and the Coalition agreed to meet on Calderia to discuss immediate actions. With the majority of the Elite threat now ended, the first orders of business were a deactivation of a majority of the standing troops and military vehicles of both forces. It was also decided that larger changes needed to occur, and needed more oversight than the currently convening representatives could provide. A summit was suggested, where government officials of Calderia, Venrar, Tavaari, Solstice, and Rhaegar could attend and debate how best to proceed in the current crisis.
4612 | System Peace Summit
Two years after the motion was put forward, the meeting which had been named the System Peace Summit was held on Calderia on Abrim 5, 4612. Leaders from almost every faction attended the event, which was hosted by Pangea. Most Coalition signees were also in attendance, although it was noted that a few colonies from Rhaegar and Solstice declined their invitations due to increasingly isolationist policies. During the open forum section of the Summit a plethora of grievances and concerns were discussed, mostly involving methods to stabilize and standardize the fragile economy. A professor by the name of Harald Zona, of Pangea, proposed an idea that would come to shake the very foundation of the system. Zona suggested the formation of a unified governance throughout the system. Complete with detailed documents outlining a theoretical structure, Zona's suggestion of a Republic was met with mixed responses. Many, especially from the Coalition and the outliers, protested the very idea of unification. While it was stressed that no decision had to be made immediately, and that the summit was an open forum for ideas and speakers, Zona's proposal almost immediately became the central focus for both discussion and controversy.
4616 | Civil Unrest
While Pangea began to openly support Zona's proposal of a unified Republic, this was not unanimous. Some political figures and civilian groups openly protested the change, even as Pangean officials began to draft policies and enter into talks with Coalition groups on Rhaegar and Venrar. Riots began in the streets and formal protests were launched as laws began to pass to turn the planetary entity of Pangea into a new format able to integrate government bodies from across the system into itself. These changes were enacted all across Calderia, and a large central city began construction. This city, planned to be the largest humankind had ever seen, was to be named after the planet itself.
4624 | Formation of the Republic
4624 saw the formal birth of the Republic on Abrim 19, a day that would henceforth be celebrated as 'Republic Day'. The first senators of the Republic were read in and given administrative authority, many of which having been leaders of the groups that made up Pangea and ran for election in the months prior. This self-stylized 'rebirth of Calderia' came with a restructuring of the currently serving armed forces and fleets of the planet. Now under one truly united banner, the upper command structure saw minimal re-organization. The Ultima Marines remained separate from these changes, having been declared their own branch of the forces. The Republic Credit was also minted at this time as both a digitally traded currency. This lack of a physical form left many of the anti-republic protestors with plentiful arguments to make against the newly formed government's growth.
4630 | Tavaari and Venrar join the Republic
Watching Calderia's progress as the Republic was formed, Tavaari tribes openly declared their support for the organization. While Venrar did not have its own unified government, many of the mining corporations declared support for the emerging economic structure. The idea of a system-standardized economy and currency was good for business, which remained Venrar's primary concern. Tavaari, having had large areas of wilderness damaged in the war, grew dependant on imports while the planet recovered. Tavaari was first to join the Republic, using the Republic approved guidelines to elect their own senators from the various tribes scattered around the planet. Similarly to Calderia, Tavaari began constructing a capital city. While not planned to be as far-reaching as Caderia, it was designed to bring some of the modern ammenities to the planet and allow for Republic personnel to live on-planet while giving the more natural-focused tribes space to keep their traditions. Following Tavaari joining the Republic, the various unions of Venrar also pledged their support and similarly elected their own senators. Following what had since become a Republic-set requirement, Venrar began to settle its own capital which heavily focused on shipyards, shipping, and commerce.
4644 | Solstice resistance
While the entirety of Calderia, Tavaari, and Venrar commited to the Republic, Sostice would not follow suit.
4650 | Rhaegar split
Rhaegar, like Solstice, is split into loyalists and rebel colonies. Black Star gains a presence on the planet, including staryards.
4670 | Economy stabilizes
The Republic Credit stabilizes as a common currency, and the economy stops its downwards trend. War looms as BSC and Repub enter Cold War like state.
