The following article is a compendium of information that most NPCs in Solanis have or collect naturally. This is also information that player characters would have and is core knowledge for players to have and cite in their roleplay.
Faster than Light Travel
There is currently no FTL travel in Solanis. Those within the system are in a sense stuck here, as the mathematic equations necessary to calculate a jump are beyond even the most advanced AI of the modern day. While it is currently impossible, many companies and groups continue to devote research to the topic in hopes of one day unlocking the ability to travel to other systems.
Calendar
While different planets have different day/night cycles, the cycle of Calderia is seen as the standard. When scheduling, making appointments, or any other act that involves setting a time it is agreed upon throughout the Republic to use the Standard Time. Calderia's orbit and day/night cycle is almost identical to that of Old Earth's, and as such the month timeline is also similar. These months are:

3rd - Marrus
4th - Abrim
5th - Mae
6th - Juna
7th - Jula
8th - Augum
9th - Septa
10th - Octa
11th - Nocta
12th - Desus
