Larvone

Larvone (|Lar-vown|) is the sixth planet from the sun in the Solanis system. It is currently classified as an ice planet, with the entirety of the planets surface covered in an ice sheet. Larvone was previously classified as an arctic planet, and home to the Wokani. Following the events of the Great War the climate and surface of Larvone has been altered and a new ice age has begun. Larvone is also the only planet known to have remnants of Elite technology and experiments buried in the ice and is in an active quarantine status by the Republic.

Physical Characteristics

Pre-war Larvone was a terrestrial artic planet due to its distance from the sun. The temperatures averaged around freezing, with the majority of the planets water being iced over and the landmasses covered in snow. Post-war Larvone has been completely frozen over, with the formation of glaciers and ice sheets covering a majority of the surface. Due to the usage of high-yeild nuclear ordinance on the planet during the Great War, the planet's atmosphere has been damaged causing a global cooling effect on the already cold planet.

Before the formation of the ice sheets, the landmasses of the planet were also drastically altered. The planet's landmasses had been so totally bombarded that much of the surface was just molten rock. Oceans were evaporated, only to cause more glacial freezing when the cooling began. The current status of Larone is often referred to as a nuclear ice age, albeit as a misnomer given the freezing is a result of the fires and burning instead of the actual usage of nuclear armament. The winter storms on the planet are fierce to the point that no species can live on the surface un-aided when one begins, as the ice storms can cause damage even to lightly armored vehicles.

Population

The only species native to Larvone, the Wokani, have been rendered extinct following the Desolation of Larvone. The ruins of the heavily fortified monasteries of the race can still be found on mountain peaks that poke out from the ice. The planet is also said to house remnants of Elite technology and ships that crashed during the Desolation, along with superstitions of mutated wildlife and scientific horrors from the Elite ships. The entire planet is under quarantine by the Republic, wherein the entire space around the planet is protected by a Republic fleet, and civilians vessels denied entry. Aside from the Biohazard Containment Corps(BCC), no organization has landed on the planet.

Cities & Settlements

Any settlements that existed before the Desolation are ruins now, and undocumented due to the substantial altering of the planet's surface.

Orbiting Bodies

Falacei - The only surviving moon of Larvone. All others were destroyed during the Great War. Currently the moon is only inhabited by a BCC outpost.
